Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do.

We specialise in low-carbon materials and processes in every project we undertake. From careful material selection to energy-efficient design, we aim to minimise environmental impact at every stage.

While we strive to use materials with low environmental footprints in their manufacture, use, and disposal, some elements — particularly concrete — are unavoidable.

To offset this, and our broader operational carbon footprint, we partner with Trees for Life to restore native forests in the Scottish Highlands.

Building for the planet as well as for people

  1. We plant one tree for every project — no matter the size, every build helps grow a new tree.

  2. Balancing material impact — we plant extra trees to offset the carbon from materials we can’t avoid, like concrete.

  3. Covering our operations — we track our mileage and business emissions each year, planting trees to make up for our footprint.

So far we have planted over 280 trees!

Our Materials

At Alchemy Projects, we carefully select materials that combine performance, durability, and low environmental impact. Every product we use is chosen to reduce carbon, improve energy efficiency, and create healthy, long-lasting homes.

PAVATHERM — Wood Fibre Insulation

Eco-conscious thermal performance: Vapour-permeable, pressure-resistant insulation that keeps homes comfortable and energy-efficient.

  1. Multi-functional: Suitable for roofs, walls, floors, and facades.

  2. Bio-based and renewable: Made from natural wood fibres, reducing carbon footprint while improving indoor air quality.

  3. Built to last: Provides long-term insulation that doesn’t need frequent replacement.

STEICO — Integrated Timber Systems

Low-carbon construction: Engineered timber and I-joists from renewable materials.

  1. Complete system: Combines structural elements and insulation for energy-efficient, sustainable builds.

  2. Expert support: Technical advice and design tools ensure optimal performance and compatibility.

  3. Durable and future-proof: High-quality timber systems built to last for decades, reducing waste over time.

FOAMGLAS® — Glass Insulation

Lifetime performance: Fire-safe insulation that retains its properties for the full life of the building.*

  • Energy-efficient and climate-friendly: Helps reduce operational energy use and carbon emissions.

  • Circular economy: Made from up to 50% recycled glass, with take-back and zero-waste goals by 2030.

  • Committed to sustainability: Factories run on 100% renewable electricity, and ongoing innovation reduces CO2 emissions.
